| Model Sanctuary Guidelines | We know how hard it is to understand how to price up models and photos and work out what rates to charge for what work, so what we thought we would do if give you a guideline to the current “going” rates (updated monthly) | PAID WORK | Style | Newbie | Established | Professional | Fashion / Catwalk | £10 | £20 | £20-40 | Swimwear / Bikini | £20 | £25 | £25-35 | Lingerie / Glamour | £20-30 | £25-£35 | £40-£50 | Topless / Page 3 | £30-£35 | £35-£40 | £40-£50 | Implied / Artistic Nude | £40-£45 | £45-£50 | £50-£60 | UK Magazine | £50-£60 | £60-£70 | £70-£80 | American Magazine | £50-£65 | £60-£70 | £70-£80 | Girl-Girl (soft) | £50-£60 | £55-£65 | £60-£75 | Fetish: fetish is usually a little more expensive than the normal style, so Topless for a Newbie is £25-£30, then Topless Fetish would be maybe £30-£35, this is about the average method of working it out | Hardcore: The pricing up of hardcore is somewhat harder to do, because there are multiple ways in which you can and or will be paid. Some choose to pay a ‘Day Rate’ which is based on an 8 hour day with an hour lunch break, which is generally used to get ‘as much as possible’ out of the model. Then theres ‘Scene Rate’ which is how most the professionals work, where your paid literally per scene, where a scene will include Stills and Video, and usually has a time limit of 3-4 hours MAX. Finally there is ‘Hourly rate’ which isn’t usually done that often but can work out better for the model. | | Non-Paid Work | This is usually for experience for newbie models, or for general portfolio updating, more frequently its used where the Model has an idea of what they want but need someone to take the pictures. As a general rule the model may expect some travel expenses if they are travelling to you, if its a long shoot its common courtesy to supply a meal and also gives time to chat to the model and build a working relationship Non-Paid Work Rarely goes beyond the topless styles but has been known to, its simply down to the model. The final detail is a model release, for Non-Paid work a model release shouldn’t really be needed as the model has been paid its not really fair to use the images for commercial gain, so again the model should be told your intentions! | | TFP - Time For Prints | The bulk of this arrangement is in the final produce where 5-10 Prints at 10 inch x 8 inch (cropped) or 8 inch x 12 inch (Full Frames) from Standard Cameras or 8 inch x 8 inch from Medium to Large format cameras, however from medium format cameras most models would prefer prints to be similar to those of standard sizes. Some models would like the same size as their existing work, this is to be negotiated at time of booking. Its not uncommon for a model to ask for a full set of smaller 6x4 Prints from the shoot, but this is entirely down to negotiation. | | | TFCD - Time For CD | The bulk of this arrangement is in the production of a CD with A FULL set of unedited images of around 10 inch x 8 inch in size, Along with a selection of 10-20 Edited Images in 10 inch x 8 inch size, more and more models are asking for an email and internet friendly size of 7 inch x 5 inch set of the edited images as well! Alot of models are asking for contact style prints so they can see what images are on the CD, and more and more models are asking for a few prints as wel, all this is to be negotiated at time of booking. | | | TFDP - Time For Digital Prints | The bulk of this arrangement is in the final produce where 10-15 Edited Prints at 10 inch x 8 inch (cropped) or 8 inch x 12 inch (Full Frames) Most models would like the standard 4:3 Aspect Ratio sizes. A CD with a copy of all the images and a contact print sheet is the normal thing to do with this kind of deal. Some models would like the same size as their existing work, this is to be negotiated at time of booking. | | | TFJC - Time For Joint Content | This is a somewhat new working method, and is usually arranged between 2 models, or 2 web masters or a combo of the two. The deal is, both parties get FULL copyright to use the images on their sites, to sell the images, or do as they please, this allows models and web masters to keep costs down when updating their web sites, which are usually pay sites. It has been known that some web masters / models will cover all costs involved in the shoot to get particular models, otherwise the costs are split between both parties. | | | TFC - Time For Clothing | The Deal here is essentially, the model gives her time, in exchange for clothing, this is usually the clothing used in the shoot. You will see this more in fetish and fashion shoots more than anywhere, and its an excellent way of doing things, since models always need clothing | | | TFWS - Time for Website | This is a pretty new thing that’s come about with the huge success of online portfolio’s and advertising. The general deal is, you model X many hours per week/per month and in return, your website is created and maintained. Obviously the Levels of the Modelling and the Time you model for is depending on the complexity of the site you require. Another factor to consider is, IF the photo’s taken in the time the model gives are used on the website, then the time and levels should be extended to match. A basic website consisting of a front page, contact page, gallery page, about page, news page, links page updated 2 times weekly would take few hours to design and build, and an hour or two a week to keep updated, so time should be relatively equally exchanged. So 6 hours on first shoot, then 4-5 hours a month should be a very amicable trade. A word of warning, Its always wise to get in writting what happens when the relationship breaks down, as in who owns the website, how it the transfer going to occur etc. | | | | | |
